Mastercam software offers powerful tools for programming CAM and CAD machining processes, but it’s only valuable to the trained operator. Proper training gives each employee the skills to make the most of its valuable features. 

On-the-job Mastercam training is often necessary, but hard to achieve in the manufacturing industry. With most shops not set up for formalized in-house classroom training, profit margins per station on the shop floor can suffer if workers lack needed skills. Meanwhile, college Mastercam courses are not comprehensive enough to satisfy the complex daily demands at CNC shops — and generally do not offer real, practical experiences.
