Finishing starts with Mastercams Flow 5 Axis, MultiAxis Parallel, and MultiAxis Morph!

Day 2 of Ron Week, lets go!!

Todays video Ron takes us through 3 finishing toolpaths for this part.

5 Axis Flow - This is used on the middle faces of the part and is again applied to the simplified model created earlier. That little bit of extra work up-front is again paying off in better toolpaths. A true flat bottom endmill should be used on an application like this to get an accurate surface.

MultiAxis Parallel - Here, Parallel is used to face the sides of the part. Where you see a feature that could use a 2D toolpath, Ron shows you how a MultiAxis toolpath can be applied and reasons why you may want to use it instead.

Morph - Ron uses Morph to cut the fillets on the corner of this part and takes us through many options inside of this toolpath.

In between the toolpath creation, Ron again shares his Mastecam and machining wisdom on the how and why he's doing what he's doing. Also, keep in mind this entire part is being toolpathed from only the solid, no extra wireframe is created to generate these toolpaths.
