Manufacturing Day 2020

'We should have fewer people doing law and finance...and more people making stuff' - Elon Musk #MFGDay20

The video is a clip of Elon Musk, the guy from Tesla/SpaceX/The Boring Company/OpenAI/Neuralink/etc (not sure I really needed to point out who he is lol), on a Joe Rogan podcast where they start to discuss manufacturing. I really liked the sound byte and though it would fit nicely into a little machining promo video. Hopefully you like it. If you can use it to help inspire the next generation of machinists/makers at your #MFGDay, have at it!

What is Manufacturing Day?

Manufacturing Day is meant to help showcase what manufacturing is really like today to our up and coming creators/makers. It's an opportunity for companies to promote the importance of manufacturing on local, national and global levels. This is the day to connect with the next generation and show them how amazing manufacturing can be.

When is Manufacturing Day?

Manufacturing Day occurs every year on the first Friday in October. This year, that is October 2nd.

How do you take part in Manufacturing Day?

There will be many events planned for #MFGDay20, more will be virtual this year than in the past. What being referred to as the 'Flagship Event' is a presentation by Emily Dawn Calandrelli, Host and Co-Executive Producer of Emily's Wonder Lab on Netflix, on CreatorsWanted.org. This presentation is set to go live at 12pm EDT on Oct. 2.

There are many more events listed here... Find Events

Typically CNC Software opens their doors to local schools for a tour of the facilities on MFGDay. This year they have put out a virtual tour through a video that you can link to here...Mastercam Virtual Tour for MFGDay20

There will be many more events than just those listed at the link above. Be sure to check your local manufacturing companies social media pages for other links to events.

If you are a manufacturer and are interested in taking part, you can find some additional information here...Register an Event
