camInstuctor LIVE!! Mastercam demo on YouTube

5/1/20 5:02 PM / by camInstructor Mike

Here is a recording of our first YouTube LIVE event. Thanks to everyone who joined and participated!

Decided to give YouTube LIVE a try and I think it went well! Lots of comments in the Live Chat (unfortunately I can't seem to get that tied into the replay here), got fairly deep into this demo project as well. The reason I wanted to try the YouTube Live vs the typical Webinar is wanting to get more feedback from you during the event...which I think looks to be the case...so there may be more of these in the future.

In this demo I covered quite a few different things in Mastercam to ultimately get to the end goal of doing some engraving on a curved surface. Lots of Model Prep functions to better handle the imported part and massage the softjaws into something more useful after a boolean function. Used the Align to Face function to mount the part into our imported Kurt Vise, did some plane creation, geometry creation, text creation, and then finally looked at two different ways to engrave onto this curved surface.

There is still some work to do on this project we may pick this up for the next live steam...that's unless I get some feedback on what you guys would rather see. Leave a suggestion for the next stream and I will try to work those in before looking at this part again.

And again, thanks to everyone who joined us live! It was definitely a fun experience for me!
