Rocket CyberTruck, 5 Axis Crew Dragon, PocketNC - camInstructor Update

7/16/20 6:14 PM / by camInstructor Mike

Here's what we've been working on this year from Rocket Powered Tesla CyberTrucks to updated Mastercam 2021 content to experimenting with the PocketNC!

With half the year in the books, thought I would provide an update to everyone on what we've completed and what we're working on.

First up, Mastercam 2021 is now out, as is the HLE version. You can download the 2021 HLE from our website inside of the completed Mastercam 2021 courses. Several of our courses have been updated to 2021 now, Mill 2D, Mill 3D, Lathe, Solids, Wire, as well as a few others. Mill 4X and Mill 5X are being updated now, to be completed soon.

Teachers, you'll be happy to know our Teacher Resources have been updated to 2021 as well. PDFs, Lesson plans, etc are all ready to go.

Another thing to point out on the website, we now have camInstructor shirts available. There will be different styles and colours available. Shipping is included in the price for USA and Canada.

Mastercam projects, we're are working on a new 5X project involving the SpaceX Crew Dragon. The Helix part, look for upcoming videos involving underlying geometry with 5X paths and how it affects the resulting toolpath. The Tesla CyberTruck is making a comeback as well...this time with some fire power.

Taking inspiration from one of our previous blogs about 3D printing with Mastercam, we 3D printed the CyberTruck with some modifications to put in a C02 canister or model rocket motor. More to come on that soon.

Last thing for the update, he PocketNC. Been playing with this machine to see where it can go. A ton of potential in a very inexpensive machine. More to come.

If you have ideas on things you would like to see, let me know! Thanks!
