Everything you need to know about Mastercam Levels and more!

Mastercam Levels are used to help organize graphical items within your Mastercam file. You do not have to use levels. However, using them can really help you stay organized and become more efficient with your Mastercam use.

In this video I go through every option on the Levels Manager, from the very basic Add a New Level button, to the more advanced Level Export and Level Import.  I also go through what I would suggest would be a good starting point for Level use if you are not currently using them. There are not only buttons for Level use at the top of the Levels Manager, but there are also right click options and options only available if Level Properties are set to be shown.

Typically, I will place like geometry on a specific level. All Wireframe geometry on its own level. The solid model of the part on its own level. All solid associated with the fixture/vise on their own level. This makes it easy to only show or hide items you want. This helps declutter when getting into complex selection and also helps for defining fixtures for simulation or backplotting.

So, in short, if you are not using levels you should be. Hopefully this video can get you started into Level usage and get you more efficient with your Mastercam programming.
