Finishing the side pockets of this project with more Mastercam MultiAxis Toolpaths.

Lets hop into Day 4 of Ron Week, the final day!

Todays video Ron first takes us into finishing of the side pockets. The floors are up first and he tackles this with the Triangular Mesh - Geodesic toolpath. Geodesic is a pattern found within the Triangular Mesh toolpath. For more information on this toolpath you may want to download the Module Works help document which you can find here...

Next up is the wall finishing. Swarf Machining is used here. Did you know there are two Swarf toolpaths in Mastercam...which one do you prefer? I think this would make a nice video itself, a comparison of the two, keep an eye out for this video!

Next, the holes. Ron uses Helix Bore run in the 5-Axis mode. All of these holes are at different angles which is not an issue for this toolpath.

Last, the engraving, Ron has only provided a brief intro here. This one, it's up to you to tackle and experiment with.

We finish up the video with some more general chat, and I ask Ron why he chooses Mastercam over all the other CAM options out there...you'll have to watch to get the answer.
