Here's a file to explore some functions in Mastercam to help you solve the Rubix Cube!

Ah yes, the Rubix Cube. The most frustrating toy ever created! Fun to mix up, impossible to solve...unless you were like me and broke it apart and then reassembled the pieces into the solved positions!

This video, and Mastercam file attached below, will work through that basic thought process. Assembling the Rubix Cube from a scattered mess into the completed correct assembly. We can use a Mastercam function for this called Align to Solid Face. 

Other methods could be used as well, Transform and Rotate, Dynamic Transform, to name a few options, but Align to Solid Face is really the easiest choice here. 

So, that was option 1 for solving the cube as a kid. As I got older and as more tutorials became available online, I was able to solve the Rubix Cube the right way...no where near as fast as you see some kids who do it in less than 30 seconds, or while blindfolded, or while juggling...but ya, I solved one without cheating! At the end of the video I'll show you how you can use Mastercam to solve a Rubix Cube the right way, by turning the faces and unscrambling the colors, be sure to check it out!
